UPDATED PEDESTRIAN ROUTES ON EGLINTON AVENUE EAST BETWEEN BERMONDSEY ROAD AND VICTORIA PARK AVENUE

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Road widening and reconstruction is ongoing on Eglinton Avenue East between Bermondsey Road and Jonesville Crescent.

An update to pedestrian routes will take effect as early as Monday, July 8, 2019. The pedestrian walkway will be available on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East (depicted below) between Bermondsey Road and Victoria Park Avenue. This change is to accommodate the construction of new pedestrian sidewalks on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.


TIMING

  • Starting as early as July 8, 2019 and lasting for approximately ten (10) weeks.
  • Work may occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven (7) days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A new pedestrian route on Eglinton Avenue East between Bermondsey Road and Jonesville Crescent.
  • Directional signage will be installed prior to the re-routing of pedestrians.
  • Access to businesses and properties will be maintained.
  • Pedestrian access to 1770, 1780, 1790 Eglinton Avenue East and 1530, 1540 Victoria Park Avenue will be available via the Victoria Park Avenue entrances only. 
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
