What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be installing Overhead Catenary System (OCS) cables along Eglinton Avenue East, between Victoria Park Avenue and Pharmacy Avenue. OCS is the system installed overtop of the rails of a light rail system, to provide operational power to the Light Rail Vehicles (LRV’s). Installation will take place October 19-23 and 26-30, 2020 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

What to Expect

To minimize the impacts to traffic, work will be performed overnight between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A 15-minute closure of the Victoria Park Avenue, Eglinton Square and Pharmacy Avenue intersections at Eglinton Avenue East will be required, as the high rail vehicle passes through the intersections. Paid duty officer(s) will be onsite nightly to assist with traffic management.
