What Work is Taking Place?
Beginning in September 2020, laydown areas will be erected on Times Road and Lanark Avenue to provide space for ongoing construction of the Oakwood Station Entrances. In addition to the existing closure at Times Road and Eglinton Avenue West, the east side of Times Road, between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue, will be closed. Additionally, the existing closure at Lanark and Oakwood Avenues will be assumed by Oakwood Station. These closures will remain in place through late October 2020. Two-way traffic on both Times Road and Lanark Avenue will be maintained for the duration of the closures.
The laydown areas will be in place 24-hours a day, seven (7) days a week, through late October 2020. During this time, Times Road will remain closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the north laneway. Access to properties, businesses, and the laneway will be maintained at all times. What to Expect
Construction equipment and materials will be stored on Times Road and Lanark Avenue. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present to facilitate the loading and removal of materials to and from the laydown areas. Noise from construction activity can be expected, while this work takes place.
Once Times Road reopens, the road will return to its pre-closure traffic configuration, with the east side of Times Road closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway. The eastbound left turn from Times Road to Eglinton Avenue West will remain restricted once the road reopens.
HOURS OF WORK
- As early as September 2020 through to late-October 2020
- The laydown areas will be in place 24-hours a day, seven (7) days a week
- The laydown areas may be in place longer or shorter than expected
- Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- Additional space will be occupied on the east side of Times Road between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue
- Times Road will remain converted to narrowed two-way traffic between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue
- Two-way traffic on Lanark Avenue will be maintained
- Lanark Avenue will remain closed at Oakwood Avenue
- Times Road will remain closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway to the north
- Parking on Times Road will remain prohibited
- Access to properties, businesses, and the laneway will be maintained at all times
- The east side of Times Road, between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway, will remain closed once the road reopens
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- Pedestrian access to Eglinton Avenue West will continue to be maintained from the west sidewalk on Times Road
- There will be no access to the east sidewalk on Times Road for the duration of this work
- No changes to pedestrian routes on Lanark Avenue are expected as a result of this work
TRANSIT INFORMATION
- Access to TTC will be maintained at all times
