Update: Extensions of Times Road Closure at Eglinton Avenue West - Late-May 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

Times Road will remain closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway to the north for approximately four (4) months, as crews continue to advance construction of Oakwood Station's main entrance and perform concrete works to finalize the station structure below ground. The laydown area on the east side of Times Road, between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue, will remain in place during these works.  The closure and laydown area will be in place 24-hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

Two-way traffic on Times Road will be maintained. To allow for two-way traffic, parking on Times Road, between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue, will be prohibited during the closure. Pedestrian access to Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained from the west sidewalk on Times Road. There will be no access to the east sidewalk on Times Road for the duration of the closure.  Access to properties, businesses, and the laneway will be maintained at all times.

What to Expect

There will be no access to Eglinton Avenue West from Times Road during the closure. Times Road will be used for equipment and material storage. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present to facilitate the loading/unloading of materials to and from the laydown area. Noise from construction activity can be expected, while this work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

• Times Road will remain closed for approximately four (4) months, until late May 2021
• The closure will be in place 24-hours a day, seven days a week
• The closure may be in place longer or shorter than expected
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Times Road will remain closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway to the north
• Times Road remains converted to two-way traffic between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue
• Parking on Times Road between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue continues to be prohibited during the closure
• Access to the laneway will be maintained
• The laydown area on the east side of Times Road will remain in place

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• Pedestrian access to Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained from the west sidewalk on Times Road
• There is no access to the east sidewalk on Times Road for the duration of the closure
