What Work is Taking Place?
Disassembly and removal of the overhead gantry crane is complete at Oakwood Station. Completion of this work allows crews to begin removing the gantry crane footings from the station's Main Entrance site.
Using an excavator and jackhammer, crews will chip away the gantry crane footings. The removed crane footings and hardened material will be loaded into dump trucks and hauled from the Main Entrance to an off-site facility. Removal of the gantry crane footings is expected to resume on Monday January 4, 2021 for approximately three (3) weeks. This work is expected to take place Monday – Saturday between 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
During these works, nearby properties may experience noise and/or vibration. Crews will endeavor to complete these works during the day, however, to ensure the site remains in a safe state, occasional overnight work may be required. This work is not expected to be performed daily, only when required.
