What Work is Taking Place?
In late March 2021, crews at Oakwood Station will resume 24-hour construction Monday through Friday. On Saturday, work will take place between 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. The following activities are currently underway:
- Main Entrance Construction
Structural works, including steel framing, rebar, and formwork installations. Crews are building and removing timber and steel molds using a mallet hammer. This activity is required to pour the concrete that forms the station walls and slabs. This work has reached surface level and is expected to continue until late-May 2021. Architectural works including structural steel and pre-cast panel installations are expected to begin in April 2021.
- Secondary Entrance Construction
Architectural works including glazing, tiling, masonry block installations, and ceiling construction. This work is currently taking place at street level and will continue through Summer 2021.
- Station Box (beneath Eglinton Avenue)
Architectural works including installation of masonry blocks and ceiling panels, as well as tiling and painting. Mechanical electrical works such as duct work, conduit, and plumbing installations are ongoing in the equipment rooms.

What to Expect
Periodic noise from construction activity including, trucks, hammering, crane, and material loading can be expected during the day, evening, and overnight periods. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.
HOURS OF WORK
- Construction takes place on a 24-hour basis Monday to Friday, and Saturdays between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Occasionally crews will be required to work overnight through weekends to complete critical activities
- Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
TRAFFIC & PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- No changes to the current traffic configuration or pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this notice
- Times Road will remain closed at Eglinton Avenue West through late-May 2021
