Street Light Installations on Eglinton Avenue East at Jonesville Crescent
WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?
As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be completing installation of street light infrastructure crossing Eglinton Avenue East at Jonesville Crescent. This work will take place starting as soon as July 15th and take approximately three (3) days.
Work will be performed in stages to minimize disruption as crews will be trenching along the roadways. Temporary traffic lane reductions and turn restrictions will be in place 8:00am-5:00pm.
TIMING
- Work is expected to start as early as Monday, July 15th and continue for up to three (3) days.
- Time: Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm
- Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavor to provide reasonable notice.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Cutting and removal of existing asphalt, trenching, installation of street light infrastructure.
- Eglinton Avenue East remains open in both directions at all times.
- Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment caused by utilities relocation activity.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone. As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
- A minimum of one lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained during this work.
- Lane reductions and turn restrictions will be in place during working hours.
- Emergency services access will be maintained.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East.
