Sidewalk Restoration Works at Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue as early as May 9, 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday, May 9, 2022, crews at Oakwood Station will begin sidewalk restoration works at the south-west and south-east corners of Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue. To facilitate this work safely, lane closures on Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue will be required (refer to maps) This work will take place Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for approximately two (2) weeks; approximately five (5) days per traffic stage. Pedestrians will be diverted around the work zones.

What to Expect

Noise from construction equipment including jackhammers, trucks, and hammers can be expected. Expected delays while traveling through the intersection. A Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place. Advance signage will be in place for pedestrians.

• Starting as early as Monday, May 9, 2022
• This work will take place Monday – Friday between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; approximately five (5) days per traffic stage.
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

 TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Stage One: Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one eastbound lane west of Oakwood Avenue
• Stage Two:
  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one eastbound lane east of Oakwood
  • Northbound Oakwood Avenue will be reduced to one turning lane.

• All turns at the intersection will be maintained during both traffic stages

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• Pedestrians will be rerouted around the work zones (refer to maps).

TRANSIT INFORMATION

• All TTC stops are expected to remain in their current locations.
• Access to TTC will be maintained at all times
