Sidewalk Restoration Works at Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue as early as July 4, 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday, July 4, 2022, crews at Oakwood Station will begin sidewalk restoration works at the south-west and south-east corners of Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue.

To facilitate this work safely, the sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will be closed periodically between Glenholme Avenue to east of Oakwood Avenue (refer to maps). The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West is open; pedestrians are encouraged to use the north sidewalk during this work.

Temporary lane closures on Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue will be required to complete this work (refer to maps). This work will take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately two (2) weeks.

What to Expect

Noise from construction equipment including excavators, jackhammers, trucks, and hammers can be expected. Expected delays while traveling through the intersection. A Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place. Advance signage will be in place for pedestrians. Access to private properties will be maintained.

HOURS OF WORK

• As early as Monday, July 4, 2022, between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., for approximately two (2) weeks
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Stage One: Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one eastbound lane west of Oakwood Avenue
• Stage Two:
  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one westbound lane east and west of Oakwood Avenue
  • Traffic on Oakwood Avenue will be reduced to one northbound lane  

• All turns at the intersection will be maintained during both traffic stages

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

Stage One: The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue will be temporarily closed between the Secondary Entrance site and Oakwood Avenue; pedestrians are encouraged to cross at Glenholme Avenue to continue east on Eglinton Avenue  

Stage Two: The sidewalk at the south-east corner of the intersection will be temporarily closed; pedestrians are encouraged to cross at the crosswalk east of Oakwood Avenue to continue west on Eglinton Avenue

The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West is open; pedestrians are encouraged to use the north sidewalk during this work.  

TRANSIT INFORMATION
