As early as Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and lasting through Saturday, October 23, 2021, crews will begin sidewalk restoration at Laird Station’s Main Entrance. To accommodate this work, a lane reduction will be in place and pedestrians will be diverted around the work zone.
What to Expect
Work will take place in two (2) phases. Phase One will last from Tuesday, October 12 through approximately Friday October 22, 2021, and includes milling and elevation restoration of the existing sidewalk. This phase requires pedestrians to be safely rerouted around the work zone. Phase Two will last approximately one day and take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021, and includes concrete pouring of the new sidewalk. This phase will require the west crosswalk at the intersection and the sidewalk in front of the Main Entrance to be closed to pedestrians. Pedestrians will be directed to cross at Sutherland Drive. Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced by one lane. Delays can be expected while the change is being implemented.
Hours of Work
• Tuesday, October 12 – Saturday, October 23, 2021.
• Monday - Saturday; 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
• This work may be longer or shorter than expected.
Traffic Details
• A work zone will be in place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East, west of Laird Drive.
• All other traffic configurations remain in place.
Pedestrians Details
• Pedestrians will be rerouted around the work zone in Phase One.
• The west crosswalk at the intersection and the sidewalk in front of the Main Entrance will be closed to pedestrians in Phase Two.
Transit Information
• The TTC stop by the Main Entrance will be shifted west. Full TTC stop access will be maintained.
