Saddle Ridge Drive and Cranborne Avenue

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Road widening is in progress on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East at Jonesville Crescent. Starting as early as Friday, October 11, 2019, work will continue east to Cranborne Avenue. This traffic configuration will be in place for up to three (3) weeks.

All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the centre of Eglinton Avenue East.


 TIMING

  • Work will begin as early as Friday, October 11, 2019 and continue for up to three (3) weeks.
  • Work may occur from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week, Monday through Sunday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Road widening activities include: wet utility relocation, saw cutting, concrete removals, excavation, road reconstruction, curb reconstruction and asphalting.
  • Due to the nature of this work, at times there will be noise and vibration around the work area.

 TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Traffic will be shifted to the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.
  • A minimum of two through lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
  • Cranborne Avenue will remain open.
  • Construction zones may require adjustments once implemented – updated notices will be distributed in the case of any changes.

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • A pedestrian walkway is available on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East is available between Bermondsey Road and Victoria Park Avenue.  
  • Pedestrian rerouting around work zones is done to protect the safety of pedestrians. Detours will be clearly marked with signage to direct pedestrians to the alternate routes.
