Retaining Wall Concrete Pour: Eglinton Avenue East at Saddle Ridge Drive

What Work is Taking Place?

To accommodate continued road reconstruction and widening along Eglinton Avenue East, a retaining wall will be constructed on Eglinton Avenue East at Saddle Ridge Drive, on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East. The retaining wall will hold and stabilize the embankment created from the newly widened road. On Thursday, December 5th, 2019 beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. crews will be conducting a concrete pour at the retaining wall work site (depicted below).

 

 

 Hours of Work

  • Thursday, December 5, 2019
  • Concrete pour will occur between 7:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.
  • Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavor to provide reasonable notice.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be conducting a concrete pour for the retaining wall at Saddle Ridge Drive.
  • A concrete pump will be staged at the end of the Saddle Ridge cul-de-sac.
  • Because concrete pours require a continuous supply of concrete a truck staging area may occupy one lane on Saddle Ridge drive.
  • Noise from equipment and construction vehicles can be expected for the duration of the pour.
  • A secondary pour will occur next mid next week, a separate notice will be provided to residents in advance of the pour. 

        Traffic Impacts

  • Access to residential properties will be maintained.
  • Increased truck traffic travelling through the area.
  • Please allow extra time for your journey.
  • Flaggers will be onsite to assist motorists entering and existing driveways on Saddle Ridge Drive.
