Overnight Utility Works Continue at Oakwood Station - October 1, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Oakwood Station will continue to work overnight to facilitate wet utility connection works at the Main Entrance site. This work is expected to take place Sunday October 3 – Thursday October 7, 2021 between 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. for approximately one (1) week.  

Significant traffic, pedestrian, and TTC changes will be in effect. Please review the complete notice for details.  

What to Expect

Overnight noise from construction equipment, including hydro-vacuum trucks and excavators, can be expected. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present, while this work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Sunday October 3 – Thursday October 7, 2021, between 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. for approximately one (1) week
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • Wet utility works will continue to take place throughout Oakwood Station until approximately late-October 2021

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane only, alternating traffic in each direction, east of Oakwood Avenue
  • Oakwood Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Eglinton Avenue West
  • The eastbound right turn from Eglinton Avenue West onto Oakwood Avenue will be restricted while this work takes place
  • The northbound left turn from Oakwood Avenue onto Eglinton Avenue West will be restricted while this work takes place
  • The lanes and turns will reopen after each night of work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The east-west crosswalk on the south side of Oakwood Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West will be relocated slightly to the south
  • The north-south crosswalk on the west side of the intersection will be maintained

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • The eastbound bus stop located at the south-west corner of Oakwood Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West will be relocated further west on Eglinton Avenue, for the duration of this work
  • Access to TTC will be maintained at all times
