What Work is Taking Place?
Beginning July 29, 2020, crews will perform a 24-hour concrete pour at the main entrance at Laird Station. Work will begin preparatory work as early as 5:00 a.m. and the pour will be ongoing for approximately 24 hours.
What to Expect
A 24-hour concrete pour will take place at the main entrance of Laird station. Because concrete pours require continuous supply of concrete, truck staging area will occupy one southbound lane on Laird Drive and two eastbound lanes on Eglinton Avenue East. Noise can be expected from concrete trucks and pumps. A paid duty officer will be onsite to assist motorists at the intersection as required. Work will begin at 5:00 a.m. on July 29, 2020 and continue for a period of 24 hours.
In the event of inclement weather, this work may be rescheduled.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
• A temporary closure of one southbound lane on Laird Drive south of Eglinton Avenue East.
• A temporary closure of two eastbound lanes on Eglinton Avenue East, west of Laird Drive.
• Increased truck traffic travelling through the area can be expected.
PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
• The sidewalk will be closed on the south side of Eglinton Ave E west of Laird Drive.
• Pedestrians will be directed to cross at Sutherland Dr to the north sidewalk on Eglinton Ave E.
TTC IMPACT
• The eastbound TTC stop on Eglinton Ave E will be relocated west of the existing stop location.
HOURS OF WORK
• Work will begin as early as 5:00 a.m. on July 29, 2020 and continue for a period of 24 hours.
OTHER IMPACTS
• Noise can be expected from concrete trucks and pumps.
• Site lighting may be required.
