GUIDEWAY WORK ENDS EARLY AT VICTORIA PARK AVENUE
What Work is Taking Place?
Guideway construction works within the Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East intersection will be completed ahead of schedule as early as October 25, 2019. To support the surface construction of the O’Connor stop, the westbound Eglinton left turn lane to southbound Victoria Park will be removed permanently, also as early as October 25, 2019.
This change is consistent with the final approved design for Eglinton Avenue East.
Westbound Eglinton left turns to southbound streets will be available at: Eglinton Square, Sloane/Bermondsey, Hakimi/Lebovic and Warden. In addition, new facilities are installed at Pharmacy/Craigton and the Eglinton Square Mall driveway to support traffic flows in the area.
Hours of Work
- The removal of the westbound Eglinton left turn movement to southbound Eglinton will occur as early as October 25, 2019.
- This permanent traffic configuration will be in place as early as 5 p.m. on October 25, 2019.
- Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.
What to Expect
- Advanced signage will be in place to notify drivers heading westbound on Eglinton Avenue of the removal of the left turn to southbound Victoria Park Avenue movement.
- Eglinton Avenue East remains open in both directions at all times.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when traveling through work zone.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
- The westbound Eglinton left turn to southbound Victoria Park will be permanently prohibited.
- Motorists can make the southbound turn at Eglinton Square instead. Two left turn lanes will be available permanently at Eglinton Square moving forward.
- Emergency services access will be maintained.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
