Fire Hydrant Connection Works at Oakwood Station October 7, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

On Thursday October 7, 2021, crews at Oakwood Station will continue fire hydrant connection works on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, east of Oakwood Avenue. This work is expected to take place between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for approximately one (1) day.

To facilitate this work safely, Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Times Road and the crosswalk east of Oakwood Avenue. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained.

What to Expect

Noise from construction equipment, including hydro-vacuum trucks and excavators, can be expected. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection. No utility interruptions are expected while this work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Thursday October 7, 2021, for approximately one (1) day, between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • Wet utility works will continue to take place throughout Oakwood Station until approximately late-October 2021

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Times Road and the crosswalk east of Oakwood Avenue
  • The lane will reopen after each day of work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • No changes to the current pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • Access to TTC will be maintained at all times
