Crane Replacement Laird Main Entrance

The large tower crane currently in place at the Laird Main Entrance will be removed and replaced with a new crane. This work will take place for approximately 5 days between June 24th, 2019 and June 28th, 2019.

Throughout the 5 days of work there will be 2 to 3 one hour periods per day when Laird Drive will be fully closed between Parklea Drive and Eglinton Avenue E. This will occur during off-peak travel times. The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton and the north/south crosswalk on the west side of Laird will also be closed during the one (1) hour period

HOURS OF WORK

• Work will take approximately five (5) days.
• Work is planned for June 24^th to 28^th. Alternate dates are between June 28^th and July 12^th.
• Work will occur between 7:00 am to 11:00 pm 
• Full closures of Laird Drive will occur outside of peak travel times.

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

• Laird Drive from Eglinton Avenue to Parklea Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
• During one (1) hour periods, 2 to 3 times per day there will be a full road closure on of Laird Drive between Eglinton Avenue East and Parklea Avenue and the sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton and the north/south crosswalk on the west side of Laird will also be closed
• Existing pedestrian walkway closures at Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue East remain in place.
• Paid Duty Police Officers (PDO) and/or traffic control personnel will be present.
• There is no impact to existing TTC stops.

TRAVELLING SMART DURING CONSTRUCTION

• Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
• Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
