Decommissioning Monitoring Wells on Eglinton Avenue East between west of Hoyle Avenue and Mann Avenue - Monday, September 12, 2022

What Work is Taking Place? 

As early as Monday, September 12, 2022, crews will be decommissioning monitoring wells on Eglinton Avenue East between west of Hoyle Avenue and Mann Avenue. The wells served as part of the Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Program (GIMP). Rolling lane closures between west of Hoyle Avenue and Mann Avenue are required to complete this work. Periodically, Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane in each direction, while this work takes place. A traffic control personnel and/or Paid Duty Officers will be present while work takes place. Upon completion of decommissioning a well, crews will move onto the next well. Work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for approximately fifteen (15) days.

What to Expect

Rolling lane closures on Eglinton Avenue East will be required to complete this work. Noise from construction activities can be expected. Expect delays while traveling through the area. Property access will be maintained. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present, while work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

• As early as Monday, September 12, 2022, for approximately fifteen (15) days.

• Work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

• This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

• Work may be longer or shorter than expected.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane in each direction periodically between west of Hoyle Avenue and Mann Avenue. 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS 

• No changes to the current pedestrian routes as a result of this work.

TRANSIT INFORMATION 

• Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
