Retaining Wall Construction east of Brentcliffe Road

septembre 23, 2021

Traffic Configuration

To accommodate reconstruction along Eglinton Avenue East in support of the Crosstown LRT, a retaining wall will be constructed. The location of this retaining wall is east of Brentcliffe Road on Eglinton Avenue East, next to another retaining wall which was just completed; however it will be constructed further into the valley on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East. This retaining wall will also hold and stabilize the embankment created from the newly widened road.

Retaining wall construction will begin September 2021 for a period of approximately four (4) months.

What to Expect

A retaining wall will be constructed on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East, just west of the West Don River Bridge. There will be no changes to the work zone or work hours previously established in this area. Noise from construction equipment, vehicles and crews  will be similar to what was experienced for the construction of the other retaining wall referenced. No further removals of trees will be required for this work. The final landscape and restoration plan for this area will be similar to the plan in place for the adjacent retaining wall.
