What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be constructing final sidewalks at the four corners of the Eglinton Ave E and Eglinton Square intersection. Work on the east side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 23, 2020 for a period of one week. During this phase, through access for traffic travelling northbound will be restricted. Work on the west side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 30, 2020 for a period of one week.

 

What to Expect

A change to the traffic configuration will be implemented. Activities will include concrete removals, excavation, backfill and concrete works to form the new sidewalks.  

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • Work on the east side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 23, 2020 for a period of one week.
  • Work on the west side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 30, 2020 for a period of one week.
  • Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • All turn restrictions will remain in place.
  • Closure of one eastbound and westbound lane at the intersection.
  • Closure of the northbound lane at the intersection for construction activities on the east side.
  • Closure of one southbound lane at the intersection for construction activities on the west side.

 

PEDESTRIAN & TTC DETAILS

  • The east crosswalk will be closed while crews are working on the east side.
  • All crosswalks will be open while crews work on the west side.
  • There will be no impacts to current TTC stop locations.

 

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected.
