Overnight Utility Works at Eglinton Avenue West and Chaplin Crescent

What Work is Taking Place?

On Tuesday November 17, 2020, crews at Chaplin Station will work overnight to perform investigative utility works. Work will take place at the intersection and within existing work zones.

Rolling lane closures are required to facilitate this work. Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West and Chaplin Crescent will be reduced to one lane only, alternating traffic in each direction, while this work takes place. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present, during this work.

To minimize disruption to the travelling public, this work will take place overnight between 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Use of a hydro-vacuum truck is not required to facilitate this work. Minimal noise disruption is expected, while these works take place.

What to Expect

Minimal overnight noise from construction activity can be expected. Site lighting is required and will be positioned away from residential properties. Crews will endeavor to minimize disruption as much as possible, while this work takes place. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Tuesday November 17, 2020
  • Work is expected to take place from 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
  • This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West and Chaplin Crescent will be reduced to one lane only, alternating traffic in each direction, while this work takes place
  • Traffic interruptions and associated lane closures will take place intermittently, for a short-term duration of approximately twenty (20) minutes per closure 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • No changes to pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work
