New Traffic Configuration at Rosemount Drive and Eglinton Avenue East - January 2, 2020

What Work is Taking Place

As part of the ongoing works to replace the existing culvert at Massey Creek, a new traffic configuration will be implemented at Rosemount Drive and Eglinton Avenue East as early as Thursday January 2, 2020. Rosemount Drive will be closed north of Eglinton Avenue East and north-south through traffic will be prohibited for the duration of the work.

Work includes excavation, concrete works, shoring installation and backfilling. 

The new traffic configuration will be implemented as early as January 2, 2020 and will last for two (2) months.

Note: Upon the completion of guideway work at the intersection, Rosemount Drive north of Eglinton Avenue East will be opened as early as December 21, 2019 through January 2, 2020.

 

Upcoming Traffic Configuration

 

 

Hours of Work

• The new traffic configuration will be implemented as early as January 2, 2020 and will last for two (2) months.

• Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.

• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances 

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

• Rosemount Drive north of Eglinton Avenue East will be closed

• Wesbound right turns onto Rosemount Drive will be prohibited.

• Southbound traffic on Rosemount Drive will be diverted north of Eglinton Avenue East

• Both westbound and eastbound left turns onto Rosemount Drive will be prohibited 

• The northwest corner of Rosemount Drive and Eglinton Ave East will remain closed, pedestrians will be rerouted to the south sidewalk.

• A minimum of one lane of eastbound and westbound through traffic will be maintained during this work 

• Emergency services access will be maintained

 

TTC Impacts

• All temporary TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.

• Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely, while minimizing impact on the community and customers
