Permanent Westbound Left Turn Lane Removal – Pharmacy Avenue
What Work is Taking Place?
In order to accommodate the future Pharmacy Stop construction, the westbound left turn lane (to southbound) will be removed at the Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East intersection as early as September 16, 2019.
Additionally, following the Eglinton Crosstown Project completion in September 2021, this left turn removal will remain in place to support the light rail transit operations along Eglinton Avenue.
Westbound left turns will be available at Eglinton Square, Sloane/Bermondsey, Hakimi/Lebovic and Warden. In addition, new turn facilities will be installed at Pharmacy/Craigton and the Eglinton Square Mall driveway to support traffic flows in the area.
Hours of Work
- The change is expected to be implemented as early as September 16, 2019 and will be in place permanently.
- Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.
What to Expect
- Advanced signage will be in place to notify drivers heading westbound on Pharmacy Avenue.
- Eglinton Avenue East remains open in both directions at all times.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when traveling through work zone.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
- Westbound left turns will be prohibited at Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton.
- Two westbound left turn lanes will be available at Eglinton Square.
- Emergency services access will be maintained.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
