Laird Drive

Installation of the dewatering system designed for Laird Station is underway and surface installations will begin as early as late April 2017. Dewatering systems involve controlling groundwater by pumping to locally lower groundwater levels in the vicinity of the excavation.  The specific dewatering system for each station is selected based on local soil conditions as well as existing groundwater levels.  Lire la suite »

Since June 2016, shoring and excavation work has been underway within the main and secondary entrance sites for the future Laird Station. In Spring 2017, the long-term sidewalk closure will begin on the west side of Laird Drive from Eglinton Avenue East to Parklea Drive along with the closure of the west/east crosswalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East. The long-term road occupancy and sidewalk closure on Eglinton Avenue East between Laird Drive and Don Avon Drive will begin in Summer 2017 and remain for the duration of the work into 2020. Crews will work to finalize hydro utility works for the construction of the future Laird Station. Work will occur on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East from Laird Drive to Brentcliffe Road. Crews will be working on overhead lines. For the safety of the public and workers, temporary pedestrian and traffic changes may be in effect to accommodate this work.
