Notice of Extension: Closure of Chaplin Cres Road Closure for Traffic Bridge Removal Works June 8 – July 31, 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
Please note that the closure of Chaplin Crescent between Eglinton Avenue and Russell Hill Road has been extended by two (2) weeks until July 31, 2020, while crews complete traffic bridge removal, utilities reinstatement, back-filling and paving at the intersection. Trailer Installation at Chaplin Station Week of July 13, 2020
What Work Is Taking Place?
As early as the week of July 13, 2020, a new, double-stacked site trailer will be installed in the northwest corner of the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site (former Chaplin Parkette) located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue between Chaplin Crescent and Gilgorm Road. Installation of the trailer is required to commence construction activities at the Secondary Entrance. The trailer will remain in place into 2021.

What work is Taking Place?
In late May 2020, crews began chipping a concrete wall located between the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance and the station box. This work will continue from June 9 through June 13, 2020 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Chipping is the process of using an excavator and jackhammer to remove concrete and hardened material. Chipping occurs periodically as deep excavation progresses. Noise and vibration can be expected.

UPDATE: Notice of Chaplin Cres Road Closure for Traffic Bridge Removal Works - June 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
As early as June 8, 2020, Chaplin Crescent will be closed between Eglinton Avenue and Russell Hill Road for approximately six (6) weeks while crews perform traffic bridge removal works at the intersection. The Chaplin-Russell Hill laneway will also be closed. Construction activities will include removal of the existing traffic bridge, back-filling, reinstatement of utilities and paving. Lire la suite »
Update: Extended Construction Hours for Excavation and Tunnel Demolition at Chaplin Station May – June 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
Since April 2020, crews have been working extended construction hours at Chaplin Station to complete deep excavation and tunnel demolition. Extended construction hours will continue until tunnel demolition and deep excavation are complete in late May and mid-June 2020, respectively. To minimize disruption, the period between 12:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. will be used for loading, hauling and site maintenance only. Lire la suite »
