Line Painting at Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West Friday May 1, 2020

What Work Is Taking Place?

 On Friday May 1, 2020, crews will perform line painting at the intersection of Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West. As part of this work, the traffic lines and pedestrian walkways at the intersection will be repainted.  Short-term traffic stoppages may be required while this work takes place.  One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.

Extended Construction Hours for Excavation and Tunnel Demolition at Chaplin Station Spring 2020

 

 What Work is Taking Place?

Deep excavation has been underway at Chaplin Station since fall 2019.  Crews are currently, excavating the Main Entrance, located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue between Chaplin Crescent and Gilgorm Road, as well as the station box beneath Eglinton Avenue.  In April 2020, crews will begin to demolish the tunnels beneath Eglinton Avenue to make way for construction of the station underground. Late Hauling at Chaplin Station April 13, 2020

 

What Work is Taking Place?

On April 13, 2020, crews will be loading and hauling excavated spoils from the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site until 2:00 a.m. the next morning.  Using an excavator and crane, excavated spoils will be loaded into dump trucks at surface level and hauled to an off-site location.  This work will take place overnight from 7:00 p.m. on Monday April 13 to 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 14, 2020.  A ventilation fan will be running for the duration of the work. Temporary Parking Removal and Lane Closure for Equipment Unloading at Chaplin Station Wednesday April 8, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, a mobile crane will be delivered to the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site.  The crane will travel north on Chaplin Crescent to Spadina Road, turn onto New Haven Drive and continue south on Gilgorm Road.  The crane will be used to unload equipment from Eglinton Avenue into the site.  Once the equipment has been unloaded, the crane will be removed from the site following the same route.  Lire la suite »

Update: Notice of Chipping at Chaplin Station Extended through April 8, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

Chipping of a concrete pile wall between the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance site and the station box is currently underway.  This work is expected to be complete Wednesday April 8, 2020.  Chipping involves use of an excavator and jackhammer to remove concrete and hardened material. Chipping occurs periodically as deep excavation progresses.  Noise and vibration can be expected. Lire la suite »
